In this fic Arthur has legalised magic but magic users are afraid it is a trap. Mordred and merlin come forward and announce they have magic to try and prove Arthur is trustworthy.

are there any fics where uther has a soft spot for merlin? like he slowly warms to him over time or has respect for him because he's saved arthur.

I once read an mpreg fic where he warmed to merlin through the pregnancy and then actually ended up really protective of merlin. so mpreg fics are fine :)

There is this fic that a read a few months back and now I can't find it.

One scene that I remember from it is that Uther had ordered Arthur to be executed. When Arthur was taken to the headsman's block, everyone was subdued and not liking it. The headsman lifted his axe but let it drop and refused to execute Arthur.

Can't remember the name now, but recently read a fic where a device was being used in Camelot to detect sorcerers (they got sick under his area of influence) but Merlin and Arthur end challenging Uther and destroying it because normal people are being affected too (a newborn even dies) with magic being everywhere and life can't exist without magic ( Read more... )
